European Funding Advisors

Luxinnovation is involved in the Research & Innovation funding programmes of the European Commission as the National Contact Point (NCP). In this context, our Agency is looking for experienced candidates to take on the role of NCP in order to help national stakeholders set up successful international R&D collaborations and obtain European funding for their research activities.

Missions

  • Provide information and advice on EU funding programmes to researchers in Luxembourg private and public RDI organisations
  • Support the participation of Luxembourg companies and research organisations in European research programmes, mainly Horizon 2020
  • Advise and train active or potential clients individually and in groups
  • Represent and defend the interests of Luxembourg in specific events at the European Commission
  • Identify new trends and customer needs and proactively develop new projects or services
  • Reach out to and maintain good contacts with the relevant institutional stakeholders at national and international level
  • Participate in writing, editing and submitting projects for Luxinnovation and contribute to the management of European projects in which Luxinnovation is involved

Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in either Computer Science, Life Sciences, Materials or Transport & Mobility, and has sound a knowledge of the research landscape in Luxembourg. In addition, he or she has gained experience in EU project management. A previous industry experience would be an asset.

We expect fluency in French or German and English (spoken and written), good social skills and conscientious work ethics, especially during periods of increased workload. You are a team player, at ease in a multicultural environment, and able to adapt to the clients’ needs. The place of work is Belval, Luxembourg. The position will involve European travel activities of up to 30%. 

Brussels Liaison Officer

(m/f) ref. EUR | Full time – Temporary contract (2 years)

In order to strengthen Luxembourg’s presence at EU institutions in Brussels and to represent Luxembourg Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) organisations from both public and private sectors, Luxinnovation, in partnership with the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology, the Luxembourg Institute of Health, the National Research Fund and the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research have opened a joint office.

Missions

  • Increase the visibility of Luxembourg’s RDI environment through the organisation of various information and networking events in Brussels
  • Facilitate and develop connections between EU Institutions and Luxembourg RDI organisations (from both public and private sectors)
  • Introduce and enrol Luxembourg RDI stakeholders in relevant academic, industrial and institutional networks
  • Provide information, economical intelligence and advice on EU RDI programmes to researchers working for Luxembourg RDI organisations in addition to the existing NCP network
  • Initiate and reinforce research collaborations with relevant European stakeholders from the academic and industrial sectors

Requirements

You hold a Master’s degree with in-depth knowledge of European research and innovation programs (e.g. Horizon 2020) and related policies with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience. Industry experience is a plus. Furthermore, you show excellent project management skills (including planning, implementation, financial management and  reporting) and have, at least, the following skills: 

  • Fluency in English (near native) with excellent public speaking and writing skills, the knowledge of other official EU languages is an asset
  • You are results-driven and customer-oriented
  • You show ability to listen and adapt to different contexts and audiences with ease
  • You are well organised with excellent analytical and conceptual skills and you are, at the same time, flexible and autonomous

Internship in European Funding

One of Luxinnovation’s mission is to act as National Contact Point (NCP) for European programmes for Research and Innovation, in particular Horizon 2020. In this context, Luxinnovation is looking for a 4 to 6 month full-time intern (m/f) starting as soon as possible.

Missions

The intern will work in a small and dynamic team whose main objective is to raise awareness and to advise and assist Luxembourg companies and public research organisations in their plans to participate in EU-funded research projects. In this context, the intern will:

  • collect data on Luxembourg’s participation in the Horizon 2020 programme from multiple sources and databases;
  • consolidate figures and, if possible, implement automated data retrieval;
  • provide an interactive database;
  • conclude with a statistical analysis of Luxembourg’s participation in Horizon 2020;
  • contribute to the organisation of events.

As a member of the team, the intern will contribute to the unit’s overall activities, notably by drafting articles for online and printed publications or providing detailed assistance to proposal writing.

Profile

You are a Master student in political science, innovation management or communication. You are reliable, proactive, well organised and interested in EU policy making in the field of research, higher education and innovation. In addition, you:

  • are perfectly fluent in English and French (written and spoken);
  • are used to working independently;
  • are at ease with Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel and Powerpoint functions.
