On 30th July, Luxinnovation, the National Contact Point for Horizon 2020 in Luxembourg organised an info-session on the new programme: “Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation”.
Performance in research and innovation varies significantly among European Member States. Horizon 2020 has therefore introduced measures to help certain Member States catch up and take full advantage of Horizon 2020. The objective of the “Widespread” programme is thus to develop R&I capacity in low-performing Member States, through three instruments: Teaming, Twinning and ERA Chairs.
Mr Grzegorz Ambroziewicz, Project officer at the DG Research and Innovation, presented the programme’s three instruments and implementation modalities. Approximately 45 participants, mainly researchers from the public research organisations took advantage of the event to learn and ask questions about this R&I scheme.
